Increasing chiller capacity at the busy Surrey hospital
The existing water chilled water system was no longer meeting demand at Frimley Park.
Every summer, the hospital was having to hire an additional temporary chiller to cope with the demand for chilled water.
The existing 480kW chiller was beyond repair, economically speaking, so we replaced it with a new, energy-efficient Trane RTAF chiller.
To ensure that supply would meet demand, even in the warmer months, we installed a second RTAF chiller.
Campbell West oversaw the installation of the new 150mm CHW steel pipework, electrical, controls and BMS installations and cranage, along with any connected structural work.
The limited previous chiller has been replaced with an energy-efficient system that will meet capacity, even during the warmest weather.
