Replacing an operating theatre plantroom
The Project
Our last project for 2020 involved removing the existing hospital plantroom and reinstating new services.
The operating theatre closed on the Friday and had to be operational by the following Tuesday: we had just one weekend to complete the project.
What we did
We carried out the full removal of an existing operating theatre plantroom. Our team carried out structural steelwork modifications, then installed new supply-and-extract air-handling units.
This was packaged together with an empty section to house the CHW & LTHW pipework, control panel, UPS, anaesthetic gas scavenging system, distribution boards and run-around-pump set.
The Result
The operating theatre has a reliable and efficient new plant room, delivered in time for the first operation on that Tuesday. Thanks as ever to our trusted partners, including City Lifting Ltd, who work with us on many hospital refits.
